Folsom is an exciting and growing city. Located just twenty miles east of Sacramento, it is the easternmost community in Sacramento County. Thus, though still an easy commute to the city, Folsom has earned its nickname as the gateway to the Sierras.

Folsom is a great place to live not only because of it's proximity to Sacramento, but also because of its own local business community. Chief among these is Intel Corporation. With some 7,500 local employees, in 2001 Intel was ranked as the largest private sector employer by the Sacramento Business Journal. Folsom is home to offices of other major businesses as well such as Objective Systems Integrators and Verizon Wireless, and next to high tech companies in El Dorado Hills such as Output Technology Solutions.

A great place to work, Folsom is also a great place to play. Hoards of shopping opportunities exist, from outlet stores to auto malls, Petsmart to Walmart. Folsom seems to have it all. For those who prefer to spend their weekends outdoors, the city offers the magnificent Folsom State Recreation Area. Its 1800+ acres are enjoyed by boaters, hikers, and equestrians alike. Bicyclists particularly enjoy the 32 miles of bicycle trails.
